Work Out of the Day



As most of you know, Koy co-owns a Crossfit gym in Deep Ellum cleverly named Crossfit Deep Ellum. :) I try to go work out there 3-5 times per week, but lately it's been more like 2 or 3. I usually go to one of the night classes, but every once in a while I'll make it to the 5:30 a.m. class. It's so nice to get it out of the way before work and have the rest of the day for whatever. It also wakes me up and puts me in a better mood for work. I also tend to make better food choices when I work out in the morning. I stray away from my paleo diet less on those days.

So, I actually made it to the 5:30 class this morning and the WOD was a heavy set of two backsquats; then 20 reps at 65% of your heavy two and 20 burpees as quickly as possible. I only got up to 105# for the two. I could only get one rep at 115# and then at 110#. I should have been able to do more. Oh well. So, then I used 70# for the second part of the workout and completed the squats and burpees in 3:07. Even though the weight was much lighter, my legs felt like jello. I was not impressed with my performance today, but I'm still glad I went and am ready for whatever this day has in store for me!

  3. Thanks Nicole! And Paige, I'm not sure how much weight that was in the picture, but I'm sure it was only around 100# since the most I have ever squatted is 120#. I'm a lightweight for sure!
