Caveman Crawl

This past Saturday Koy, Pam, Brian, and I did the Caveman Crawl out in Bridgeport. It took about an hour and a half to get out there, but it ended up being a lot of fun. It was a 5k run with lots of obstacles and even more mud! The very first obstacle was wading across a big pond where the water went up almost to my shoulders in some parts. Other obstacles consisted of crawling through muddy water under big logs, running up steep embankments, over big tires, up a rope ladder, and down a slip-n-slide into even more dirty water. Afterwards we ate lunch at a place called Double K BBQ in Boyd, Texas. It was quite interesting. The waitress didn't know what their best meats were or what balsamic dressing was. I think she was highly confused as to why anyone would order anything other than ranch. It was pretty funny! Then another hour and a half and we were back in Dallas. It was a long trip for a 5k, but it was a lot of fun and a good chance to get to know some of my fellow gym members better. We did it as part of the "Adventure Team" at Crossfit Deep Ellum.
