This post is a little late, but better late than never.... Last Friday, I went to the 5:30 pm class at the gym. The WOD was max reps of pull-ups, handstand push-ups, and muscle-ups, and a 500 meter row time trial. I got 7 kipping pull-ups before having to drop off the bar, which is the same number I got at the beginning of the year, so that's kind of sad. I need to practice more. I can't really push myself off of the bar at the top of the pull-up so I haven't really gotten the whole swinging momentum to be able to do more than 2 or 3 in a row without starting my kip over. Oh well. Hopefully I'll catch on eventually.
Then I got 21 handstand push-ups with two ab-mats, which I felt good about, but then I tried them with only one ab-mat and I could only get two at a time. Definitely need to work on those as well.
I did the 500m row in 2:14 which isn't great, but it's an improvement for me. I'm terrible at rowing. I like to blame it on my relatively short legs and abnormally long torso. I was just not built to be a good rower. ;)
Finally, since I can't do muscle-ups, I decided to see how many double-unders I could do unbroken. Koy told me the most he had done was 31, so I was really striving to beat that number by at least one. The most I had done before was about 18, but I ended up getting 34 that night!! I was so excited to actually beat him at something! :) I think I could probably do more if I wasn't already tired from all the other stuff. I think we'll have to have a double-under showdown sometime when we are both fully rested.
Yay! I am really enjoying reading your updates! Hopefully I will be at Deep on Saturday!
